Things To Do In Agnes Water

After visiting our Distillery, check out these other attractions and things to do while you are visiting our beautiful area!

Watch an ocean sunset from a kayak

Although better-known for surfing, Agnes Water and 1770 are also home to calm inlets tailor-made for stand-up paddleboarding and kayaking.

BYO paddleboard or explore the coastline and waterways by kayak with 1770 Liquid Adventures. Sign up for their sunset tour and paddle past Captain Cook’s landing point and on towards the headland to watch the sun set over the ocean (a rare sight on Australia’s East coast).

Catch a Breathtaking Sunrise Over Agnes Water Beach

If you are an early riser, the sunrise from Agnes Water Main Beach is just as spectacular as a 1770 sunset. Can also be viewed from the 1770 Lookout platform.

Learn to Surf on Queensland’s Most Northern Break

Agnes Water is home to one of the most northern surf beaches. The waves are kind and uncrowded making this a perfect safe spot to learn to surf without the pressure. Get surf lessons at Gnarly Tours.

Ride the Pink LARC! for a One-of-a-Kind Coastal Adventure

Truly unique amphibian adventures, travelling the coastlines of Eurimbula National Park and the waterways of Bustard Bay to the historical Bustard Head Lighthouse. Choose from a range of family friendly tour options to suit any schedule.

Discover Local Stories at the Agnes Water Museum

For a small donation you can visit the Agnes Water Museum. You never know what you will find and learn here. A passionate group of local volunteers are more than happy to answer questions and talk about the history of the area.

Visit the Kangaroos at Horizon Kangaroo Sanctuary

No visit to Australia is complete without meeting some of the adorable local wildlife, and particularly for families travelling around this region, Horizons Kangaroo Sanctuary makes for an essential attraction.

A sanctuary for injured and orphaned kangaroos and joeys, the habitat is a wildlife lover’s haven.

Offering visitors the chance to get up close to kangaroos and joeys as they roam about in the large, open-plan sanctuary.

"The park is a sanctuary for injured and orphaned kangaroos and joeys dedicated to rehabilitating and releasing these animals back into the wild."

The Kangaroo Experience provides visitors with a behind-the-scenes experience for a relatively small fee of just $10 per person.

If you can’t tear yourself away from the adorable joeys nestling into their man-made pouches replicating their mother’s pouch, then you can spend the night in the on-site campground.

Grab a Bite and Watch the Surf at Holidays Beach Café

Need to check the surf and eat at the same time?… No worries, ‘kill two birds with one stone’ at this seaside café. Right on the doorstep of the Agnes Water point break.

Ride a Scooter or E-bike to get around (or Hire one)

Don’t have a car, then did you know you can hire 50cc scooters or an E-Bike to get around? Even better, there is a convenient bike path beside Captain Cook Drive.

Straight riding only takes around 30 minutes to cycle between Agnes Water and 1770, so you will only be in for a short journey. However, you can stop at any of the beach entry points or the local coffee shack along the way to break it up.
